MSC Cruises was forced to cancel an 11-night Caribbean sailing after the MSC Poesia was detained at PortMiami by the U.S. Coast Guard.
The MSC Poesia, which was scheduled to depart from PortMiami for an 11-day Caribbean cruise, was held by the U.S. Coast Guard for an inspection. The cruise line confirmed that a regulatory matter arose prior to departure that could not be resolved in time for the voyage to proceed. Passengers were notified of the cancellation on Tuesday morning, November 3, 2026. The vessel had previously undergone an extensive renovation in the spring of 2026, but the Coast Guard inspection identified issues that prevented the ship from receiving the necessary clearance to sail.
