Disney Cruise Line GoCompareCruise Editorial Nov 7, 2026
Disney Cruise Line has officially named its upcoming Japan-based vessel 'Disney Imagination' ahead of its scheduled spring 2029 launch.
The new cruise liner, which will have a gross tonnage of approximately 140,000 tons, is designed to accommodate about 4,000 passengers across 1,250 guest cabins. The ship will feature a wide array of entertainment options tailored for guests of all ages. Based at the Tokyo International Cruise Terminal, the Disney Imagination will primarily focus on short-duration cruises ranging from two to four nights. This strategy is intended to make the Disney cruise experience more accessible and affordable for families in the region.
