NCLH Implements Airfare Optimization to Boost Yields

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings GoCompareCruise Editorial Nov 2, 2026

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings is scaling back included airfare programs as part of a broader strategy to improve revenue and reduce operational costs.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) is reworking its air travel logistics for both guests and crew to drive a $100 million run-rate benefit. The company aims to reduce reliance on heavy discounting by optimizing its promotional offerings and airfare inclusions. Management noted that while the changes will take time to fully phase in as existing bookings sail, the strategy is intended to create a more stable customer base. This move is part of a larger turnaround plan that also includes upgrading reservation systems and digital channels to increase pre-cruise and onboard spending.
