TUI Cruises GoCompareCruise Editorial Nov 3, 2026

The Federal Bureau of Maritime Casualty Investigation has officially rated the recent collision involving Mein Schiff 3 as a 'serious casualty'.

The Mein Schiff 3 collided with two cargo ships, the MSC Victorine and MSC Anne F, while departing Bremerhaven in stormy conditions on October 25. The German Federal Bureau of Maritime Casualty Investigation (BSU) has classified the incident as a 'serious casualty', the second-highest severity rating on their scale. While no injuries were reported among the 2,428 guests and 922 crew, the ship sustained damage that forced the cancellation of a planned Canary Islands cruise. TUI has selected Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven to perform repairs on the vessel.
